community and policy change

Communities and local governments are being asked to address increasingly complex challenges that are impacting the individuals, institutions, and relationships that make-up their communities. A strong understanding of the role policy plays in achieving results allows local collaboratives to harness the power of place and the assets within a community to meet these challenges head on.

This workshop is about discovering the importance of community and grounding policy change in place.  You will build the case and foundation for policy change.  We will talk about identifying your goal, reflecting on your internal and external organizational changes and develop a strategy for change.

Who should attend:

  1. Municipal & Provincial/Territorial staff & decision makers embracing the power of place
  2. ABCD practitioners who want to set into policy
  3. Community collaborative ready to engage in policy change efforts
