Aaliyah Flett, CBYF Prince Albert, The Reconciliation Project - Treaty Six Territory 

Aaliyah (She/Her) is from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She lives on Treaty Six Territory, the homelands of the Metís and the traditional meeting grounds of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux. Aaliyah has been working with Communities Building Youth Futures Prince Albert since May 2023. She is grateful for the work being done in the community.

Aaliyah's position is rooted in the heart of reconciliation and it has been a gift working alongside youth who are passionate about the community and the future that it holds for everyone. 

Blue Vetsch, Youth Community Development Assistant, Community Social Development, The City of Grande Prairie

Blue Vetsch (They/Them) is a dedicated newcomer to the systems change arena, having begun volunteering with CBYF in their third year. Demonstrating unwavering commitment and enthusiasm, Blue actively contributes to the collective impact and youth advocacy sectors. In their role as Youth Community Development Assistant at The City of Grande Prairie, Blue has played a key role in co-facilitating workshops, training youth volunteers, and shaping various events in collaboration with peers. Notably, they have been instrumental in conceiving and promoting CBYF GP's and The City's largest youth-focused initiative – The Youth Career Discovery Expo. Anticipated to attract around two thousand attendees, this event aims to expose youth to diverse career opportunities, post-secondary training, and community support resources.

Clairice Tuckanow, BSCF Coordinator, Growing Young Movers, City of Regina

Clairice Tuckanow (She/Her) is a passionate Métis Cree woman from the vibrant Okanese First Nation within the Treaty Four Territory. Currently, she embraces her role as a Youth Coordinator in Regina with dedication, she mentors and uplifts the spirited young minds in her community.

Clairice is a beacon of support, ensuring that the youth are well-connected and have access to a wealth of resources and services that foster their growth and well-being on their journeys. Clairice is determined to keep the conversation alive and flowing, not just within her own community but across the expanse of Turtle Island. Her vision is one of reconciliation, understanding, and collective progress, and she stands as a proud representative of her culture, an advocate for youth, and a tireless agent of positive change.

Jelise Keating, Communication Specialist, Future North

Jelise Keating (She/Her/Elle) is a youth that has been working with youth for almost 11 years. From volunteer work to professional employment, she has always been passionate about supporting the growth of youth in every community. Within her work, Jelise has created workshops, supported various youth initiatives, and advocated for the youth voice.

Currently holding the position of Communication Specialist at Future North, a network for youth, Jelise hosts the Future of the North Podcast where all can come and share their perspectives and lived experiences.

Jordan Higgins, Youth Engagement Facilitator - Alberni Valley, Communities Building Youth Futures - Alberni Clayoquot

Jordan (She/Her) has been working with children and youth in Port Alberni, BC, for 7 years now. She joined the Alberni Clayoquot CBYF project in April 2022. This project has been an amazing opportunity to amplify youth voices and bring their concerns to the forefront of service provider communications. Jordan has loved watching youth share their voice and experiences when given the platform to do so. She is a huge advocate for harm reduction and normalizing conversations around substance use.

When Jordan is not working with CBYF you can find her working as a paramedic, running in the forest or curled up at home with her cats.

Templeton Sawyer, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Alive House

Templeton Sawyer was an Employment Support Practitioner with Teamwork Cooperative, the host of Tweet the Leader in You podcast, and co-facilitator of the CEI and Teamwork’s Youth-Focused Community of Practice in Halifax Nova Scotia. He brings a great deal of lived experience to the table and is a passionate Youth Advocate who seeks to help youth in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and the Bahamas believe in themselves and increase their self-confidence through leadership and skill development programs.

When Templeton thinks about the word inclusion, he has a passion for placing action to include everyone. Templeton continues his inclusion advocacies through a Youth Focused Community of Practice which he Co-Author, this space provides service providers to grow and develop new strategies to serve youth and people in general.

Today, Templeton is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of a new startup Nonprofit call "Alive House". Alive House was founded in March 2023 to support and advocate for the most vulnerable communities facing homelessness. The organization aims to support refugees, international students (Single Mothers, Youth 15-30, People of Religious Background and People with disabilities) through education and employment support and building a model of affordable housing.
