FESTIVAL Costs

Tamarack is a charitable organization and has secured support from our sponsors to provide this training at a reduced cost to the participants. In our experience, learning opportunities are better translated into action when a committed group of learners attends together. Therefore we are offering subsidies for colleagues who enroll together.

The registration rates (in Canadian dollars) are as follows:

  • $895 per person for five or more colleagues from the same collaborative attending together
  • $945 per person for two people from the same collaborative attending together
  • $995 for single registration

Your registration fee covers festival tuition, light breakfasts, mid-morning snacks, lunches, afternoon snacks, and evening receptions.

We know that many of you need to apply for funding to attend. To help, we've created a simple handout to share with your organizations to help explain the many benefits and opportunities you'll find at the Community Change Festival.

*Tamarack encourages groups to register together and provides a registration fee discount for this. From time to time, Tamarack may offer additional discounts for our learning events. Individuals and groups may access a maximum of one discount per registration process.*

What is the cancellation policy?

We know that you don't want to miss out on this exciting learning event, but understand that sometimes unanticipated changes can affect your plans. This is why we have a cancellation policy that allows us to refund your registration fee up to 3 weeks in advance of the workshop start date, less a $150 administration charge which we need to put towards our overhead costs. At 20 days before the workshop, we are sorry that we can no longer offer refunds, but will gladly admit confirmed substitutions up to 1 week in advance of the workshop so that someone else can benefit from the training.

Who will be there?

Participants of the 2019 Community Change Festival will include a diverse mix of individuals from a variety of sectors and communities. This includes representatives from community organizations, businesses, funders, national, provincial and regional governments, researchers and community members. Throughout the event, we have deliberately created opportunities for participants to share their unique perspectives, and bring forward the issues and ideas that matter to them the most.

What distinguishes the Community Change Festival from other Tamarack workshops?

The scale and scope of the Community Change Festival is ambitious. This is an interactive learning event and festival – not a conference – and there is no other event like it. Over four days, not only will we dig deep into issues, you’ll also experience sessions that build on each other and incorporate the knowledge of your peers. We will not provide easy answers but rather engage with you deeply about questions, challenges and opportunities, and work with you to craft a path forward.

How can I prepare?

We will be arranging pre-learning opportunities for all registrants and will periodically send you material to read in advance of the event. We will also be providing you with opportunities to engage directly with the event's thought leaders and other participants in advance of the gathering in Vancouver.

What time does the conference start and end?

The event will kick off at 10am on September 30th and wrap up by noon on October 3rd.

Who is taking care of my travel and accommodation?

Participants are required to book and pay separately for their own travel and accommodations in Vancouver, BC
